Now working my way through Chapter 5, about life in the colonies. It's 1928, and even though he's been dead for 8 years, yes, "Big" Mak finds a way to mention Abraham Kuyper! He comes up on pages 129 and 130.
I passed through the Netherlands once in 1985. While I don't rule out another visit, such an event is unlikely. Other than this project, I have no connection to the Dutch speaking world. I'm currently learning Dutch through the media and reading DE EEUW VAN MIJN VADER (My Father's Century) by Geert "Big" Mak.
